These Shoes were designed for the specifically for above ground pools with Vinyl surfaces which is delicate to ruff or stern materials that would normally damage it and cause issues for the pool and its system. So, Hayward created these Shoes that are made of Santoprene which is a Thermoplastic elastomer (rubber-like material) making it safe and secure for the Vinyl surface of the pool. These shoes are an Off-White color and meant to be attached to the ends of each of the Pods which are the mechanisms that help move the cleaner along the surface as it cleans. Now these parts can wear over the length of time and use of the cleaner, so we always suggest checking these parts periodically.
